Kids Dental Checkups & Cleanings

Whenever we see a child for a checkup and cleaning, our goal is to not just closely examine their mouth and remove cavity-causing plaque, but also make sure they have a positive experience. This leads to smoother appointments over time and helps your child have a good relationship with dentistry that will serve them well into adulthood.

Athletic Mouthguards/ Sportsguards

Whether your child is a future star athlete or just likes to play the occasional pick-up game with their friends, a mouthguard is always a good idea. It can prevent an accident on the field from turning into a dental emergency appointment due to a cracked or knocked-out tooth.

We can give your child a fully custom appliance that fits and protects better than anything you’ll find in stores or online. It will feel so good that you can trust your child to actually use it at both practice and during games!

Dental Sealants

Kids are at a high risk of tooth decay between the ages of 6 and 14. During this period, they can benefit greatly from dental sealants. These thin protective layers can be painted directly onto the irregular surfaces of premolars and molars, literally sealing out acids and bacteria to prevent tooth decay. It only takes a few minutes to apply dental sealants, and they can provide years of protection.

Lip & Tongue Tie Treatment

Does your child have trouble swallowing or latching while breast or bottle-feeding? Do they struggle to say certain words or are missing their verbal milestones?

These could be symptoms of a lip or tongue tie, conditions that prevent these parts of the mouth from having their full range of motion. We can screen for these conditions and then help your child get the treatment they need to fully restore their oral function.

Pulp Treatment

Inside each of your child’s baby teeth is a small amount of soft tissue, which contains a sensitive nerve as well as blood vessels. Called the pulp, if a cavity is able to reach it, this can cause a severe toothache as well as increase the risk of further infection.

With pulp therapy, we can remove the infected tissue, stop your child’s pain, and save the tooth at the same time. Why do this? Because it’s always best to let nature decide when it’s the best time for a tooth to fall out!
